Social Media Community Guidelines

Welcome to Our Digital Social Depot

The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (C&TSRR) is proud to maintain an active presence on social media.

Our goal is to create a vibrant digital community where fans, historians, and travelers can connect with each other to celebrate the beauty of the San Juan Mountains and the history of steam railroading.

To ensure our pages remain a welcoming and informative space for everyone, we ask that all users follow these Community Guidelines.

The Rules of the Road

Engaging with our social media channels means that you agree to the following:

Be Respectful: We welcome diverse opinions and healthy debate. However, we do not tolerate harassment, bullying, profanity, or personal attacks against our staff, volunteers, or fellow community members.

Fact-Based Discussion: Accuracy is important to us. To prevent the spread of misinformation, we reserve the right to remove posts that contain demonstrably false information or unsubstantiated claims that may mislead the public.

Business & Procurement Integrity: To protect the integrity of official business processes, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and contract bidding, we do not discuss specific procurement details in public comments. All inquiries regarding active RFPs must be directed to our official administrative channels.

No Public Disputes: Social media is not the appropriate venue for legal disputes or formal grievances. Comments intended to pursue public disputes or disparage the organization during active legal or business proceedings may be removed.

No Spam or Solicitations: Please refrain from posting unauthorized advertisements, commercial solicitations, or repetitive “bot-style” content.

Stay On-Topic: To keep the conversation engaging for everyone, we may remove comments that are significantly off-topic or intended to derail the discussion.

Moderation & Enforcement

We value and encourage open dialogue. However, C&TSRR reserves the right to moderate content to maintain a safe and professional environment. Enforcement actions may include:

  • Hiding or removing specific comments that violate the rules above.
  • Redirecting users to official email or phone channels for business-related inquiries.
  • Banning or blocking users who repeatedly or severely violate these guidelines.

Please note: As a bi-state agency of Colorado and New Mexico, our social media pages are considered limited public forums. We moderate content based on these objective guidelines, not on the viewpoint of the user.
